The Red Sox jumped out in front after Alex Bregman's
first inning homer, when Xander Bogaerts hit a two run blast onto
Lansdowne Street in the second inning. Nick Pivetta then held the
Astros in check for the five innings he worked.
Meanwhile the hot Red Sox bats went ice cold, as they left nine
runners on base that were in scoring position and stranded 11
baserunners overall.
Then in the eighth inning Jose Altuve slugged a homer off Garrett
Whitlock to tie the game. Nate Eovaldi came in to pitch the ninth
inning and let two men get on base with two outs, before seeing Jason
Castro rip a single, that put the Astros up by a 3-2 score. The roof
then totally caved in after that, as Houston scored six more times
turning the game into a 9-2 blowout.
