The Sox steal record nine bases on the Yankees
June 16, 2024
...
Zack Kelly escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the
seventh inning, falling behind 3-0 to the first batter and the Sox
only up a run, 4-3. He struck out that batter, struck out the next
batter and got the third out on a fly to center.
After the Kelly escape, the Sox scored three more runs when Jarren
Duran walked, Rob Refsnyder singled and Rafael Devers scored Duran on
a base hit. Then Connor Wong laced a triple into the right field
corner.
The Sox stole a franchise record nine bases, with David Hamilton
swiping four of them. It was the most allowed by the Yankees since
1915.
Kutter Crawford tied his career high with nine strikeouts, giving up
three runs on three hits in six innings.
